In the center of Seefeld is the pilgrimage church, which is dedicated to St. Oswald. The first historical records date back to 1263.

The church became one of the most famous pilgrimage sites in Tyrol through the so-called "Host miracle" in 1384.

According to legend, Oswald Milser from the border fortress Schlossberg demanded a larger host during mass than for the "gemeine Leit". When he received it, the host turned blood-red and both the stone he was kneeling on and the altar stone he was trying to hold onto sank. The imprint of his hand can still be seen today. Due to the influx of pilgrims that followed this incident, the church was expanded in 1425 by order of Duke Frederick with the Empty Pocket and completed in 1474 under Sigmund the Minty Rich.

St. Oswald is one of the most beautiful late Gothic church buildings in Tyrol, the wonderful tympanum relief along the main portal tells the story of the Hostienwunders, the three-nave interior offers some treasures, such as the frescoes from the 15th century the pulpit with flat carvings from 1524, valuable shrine figures, a Gothic baptismal font and the famous panel painting by Jörg Kölderer from 1502.

Emperor Charles IV adapted the Renaissance furnishings of the "Blood Chapel", the part of the parish church that served to store the miraculous host, to the artistic taste of the Baroque period, with stuccowork and ceiling frescoes by Josef Anton Puelacher.
