What is needed to have a rad session? An extensive setup would be nice, snow shouldn’t lack either and -of course- bluebird is a must-have. Under these awesome conditions the film- and photo shooting took place at the Snowpark Schöneben. Three motivated riders and a professional media crew had a blast at a park that has more than one line to offer.

Snowpark Schöneben. The home of Battle ROJal, the host of the legendary Shred Poker and last Wednesday it was the place where Lukas Hofer, Jakub Haber and Michael Plattner shredded for the camera. With a bunch of kickers, lots of jibs and a whole lotta rails, the riders definitely had some stuff to hit. A total of 48 Obstacles were waiting for those shredheads at the creative playground. “The park has much to offer”, photographer Christian Riefenberg says. “We had really good conditions for a shooting.”

But the media staff weren´t the only satisfied ones, the riders were pleased as well. The two snowboarders Lukas and Jakub were extra stoked to shred the Snowpark Schöneben. Why? Because they built it with their own hands. Both of them are part of the shapecrew at Schöneben, which means that they either shape the park or shred it. Knowing every inch of their home base, Lukas and Jakub had no problem with showing the media crew their skills in a photogenic way.

Michael was shredding on twintips: “We had a rad session and the weather was awesome –tiptop!” The freeskier visited the Snowpark in Schöneben for some times the last couple of years. Back then, as well as today the park got a broad setup and is perfect for every kind of rider, from rookie up to fulltime shredhead. For Michael, the park got quite a development this winter: “The park keeps improving this season. Especially since Andi is here, props to him and the crew!”

He was talking about Andreas Scharf, the park designer and therefore boss-man at the Snowpark Schöneben. He always loves to see it when riders are shredding in the park. For him the formula to a massive park is easily explained: “What’s really important is the cooperation with the Bergbahnen. Without the help of them we couldn’t build a decent park.” Another important part is the atmosphere inside the crew. Teamwork is vital to building an epic playground like the one in Schöneben.
