Make friends, stay friends:
Summer, sports and adventure in the mountains of Flachau
The natural beauty of the Alps coupled with a wide range of sporting activities, customized holiday arrangements with professional service and friendly hosts who enjoy being there for their guests – welcome to Flachau in Salzburg County! Things are made easy for you from the moment you arrive and throughout all the exciting sport and adventure activities, especially the harmonious interactivity of energetic kids and active adults.
Summer in the Flachau mountains (www.flachau.com) is the perfect contrast to everyday life: zorbing, high speed fun on the new “Lucky Flitzer” Alpine roller coaster, potholing and climbing tours, high wire climbing park, rafting, archery, segway excursions – activities which make your heart beat just a little bit faster, but wherever possible, they are made suitable for children. At all times our vigilant guides ensure that everyone enjoys safe yet exciting and fun sporting activities. For cycling enthusiasts Flachau’s high altitude plateau offers everything from gentle trails for electric bikes to trekking routes and challenging mountain bike tours at over 2,000 metres above sea level. Hikers will enjoy the great variety of walking routes which can be combined with cable car and lift rides and free use of the local Sportwelt buses. Relaxation on the other hand can be found on the shores of our two bathing lakes and in the “Therme Amadé” thermal spa baths with indoor and outdoor pools, sauna area and lots fun elements for the kids.
Holidaying with friends: The Flachau event highlights in summer
Not forgetting your roots, and yet remaining open to new ideas – this is the positive attitude that visitors to Flachau appreciate. In addition to the great variety of different restaurants this open approach is also reflected in the wide range of events and festivals held in Flachau. The Street Festival (3 x in summer) combines the true feeling of summer with live music and the chance to try out new fun sports, whereby the Castle Höch Festival (3rd of august 2014) takes us back to medieval times. Another summer highlight in 2014 is the Bike Night event (9th-10th of august 2014), the compact racing trail and a large starting line-up enables spectators to discover the fascination and excitement of the mountain biking sport (www.bike-night.at). A late-summer festival with almost cult status is the Flachauer Dorfgaudi (4th – 7th of september 2014) with singer and musician jam sessions, Lederhosen and Dirndl-dress Clubbing and the Flachauer Farmers’ Market.
